Gadget Nation's "offbeat" music video!

Maybe Steve should stick to writing books?

Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko Bop!
Much like Sterling’s New York Times bestseller Hippie, Doo Wop captures the spirit of an era in spectacular visuals, revealing the roots of the 60’s music explosion. With abundant background and enticing images, it covers way more than just the gorgeous harmonies of the unforgettable doo wop groups.
As legendary radio personality Cousin Brucie says, “Doo Wop is the first music to have cross-generational appeal.” Everyone can belt out an Elvis tune or two; we all know the lyrics to “Rock Around the Clock;” and the beats of doo wop are the roots of most modern-day music, from rock to R&B. Doo Wop is not merely a compilation of music, bands, and culture from that time, it is a loving portrait of all the emotion and memories that the “doo wop era” evokes.
Tony Bennett in the Studio
Tony Bennett has a talent that sets him apart from any other entertainer. He’s the premier interpreter of the Great American songbook, a 15-time Grammy® winner, and a Kennedy Center honoree, among countless other achievements.
What many of his admirers may not know, however, is that for as long as Tony Bennett has been singing, he has been painting. Under his family name of Benedetto, he is a successful painter whose works hang in museums and galleries, including a painting the Smithsonian American Art Museum that is part of their permanent collection.
This beautiful new book, Tony Bennett in the Studio, is richly illustrated with his own artwork, and within its pages, Bennett takes the time to reflect on his career, and the inspiration that continues to infuse both his music and his art.
